Jayce Rastrelli, Missionary

Coach Jayce felt the impact of prayer through sport as a volunteer at the first-ever Frassati Basketball Camp in 2016. This experience led him to change majors from Graphic Design to Exercise Science: Human Performance and Sport Coaching, earning his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 2021. Being the youngest of seven in a large Catholic family, he has been blessed to be surrounded by great role models of strong faith. Being able to be that role model for these young athletes has been a blessing for Jayce and they continue to help him grow in his faith. The best part is that he gets to do it while glorifying God through sport and fitness.

Jayce is preparing to work as a part-time missionary Athletic Director and Coach with Highlight Catholic Ministries, beginning in July of 2023. As he answers God’s call to help form disciples of Jesus through sports, Jayce will rely on a mission partner team to support his ministry work. He will organize and direct our teams and assist the ministry’s president in the administration of our leagues, clinics, and camps. Jayce will also coach basketball and lead strength and conditioning clinics. Mission partners will make Jayce’s mission possible and help Highlight Catholic Ministries lead more youth closer to Christ through sports. To join his team, set up your support below.

Jayce is an amazing coach and mentor. Over the past two winters, I have witnessed Jayce skillfully and successfully teach basketball skills, join the boys together as a team, and instill a fierce competitive spirit with a high level of sportsmanship. All of this occurred while also teaching the boys to give all Glory to God and that all achievements are gifts directly from God.
